I had the idea for My Picturebook in late 2003 after reading a bedtime book to my 1-year-old son. I think it was a book about tractors and trucks. My son was really into cars and trucks at an early age. He still is (and so am I). I thought to myself, "wouldn't it be cool if I could create a picturebook with my car in it? He would really like that."

But then the web designer in me chimed in. He said, "Hey, wouldn't it be even cooler if EVERY dad in the world could make a book for their own kids with their own cars? We can make a website that allows them to upload pictures of their car (or truck or whatever) and let them be the hero of their own books?"

So, for a year I created prototype after prototype, wrote the story, had another baby boy (well, I guess that's a different story), and finally arrived at roughly what you see here. My Picturebook, LLC was officially formed in January 2006 and we hired some amazing illustrators and programmers to make everything work.

But like many of the cars in our books, it's a work in progress. Our mantra has 3 simple words: Fun, Creative, Magic.
